What is a Donor Advised Flex Fund?

A Donor Advised Flex Fund (DAFF) is TPO’s unique giving vehicle, administered by a DAF sponsor (registered charity), which allows you to give today, receive a tax receipt today, and provide suggestions on the granting of those assets to charity in the future. It’s an efficient, alternative to operating a private foundation.

The TPO DAFF is similar to a traditional Donor Advised Fund (DAF), but offers greater options, accessibility and customization often required to meet the unique circumstances and needs of a donor.

Using a DAFF, donors can easily support the causes that matter most to them while saving time on administration, governance and day-to-day foundation operations - upholding the full financial and philanthropic benefits one would experience with a traditional private foundation.

Complete the application form, name the account (The Smith Family Foundation) and then make an initial donation (cash, securities in kind, or insurance).

activate your daff account

We will facilitate opening and oversee the management of an investment account, send you an official tax receipt for each contribution and provide you with quarterly reports on your account.

fund the charities of your choice

Choose the charities to receive grants (advisory services available), and we will handle the rest, including any initial due diligence and the ongoing operation of the fund.
